A new Alabama law passed in 2017 clarifies which convictions do and do not disqualify  a person from voting.  Ellen Boettcher, Southern Poverty Law Center fellow will lead this traing session to raise awareness and educate us about the history of felony disenfranchisement in Alabama, how the new law works in regard to felony disenfranchisement in the state, what it means in Mobile County, and what volunteer opportunities are available to help formerly incarcerated Alabamians restore their voting rights.
