Every summer for many years vehicles carrying donated medical and other supplies to Cuba have crossed the U.S. and converged on the Texas-Mexico border. They go to a Mexican port because the embargo on commerce with Cuba prevents them from using an American one. This annual Cuba caravan is organized by the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization/Pastors for Peace.
This year one truck is making an overnight stop at David Underhill’s home in Mobile. Anybody may visit with the driver, Rev. Thomas Smith, about his trip and the dramatic changes underway in U.S.-Cuban relations. Come by 1220 Texas St. anytime this Thursday evening before 9:00. Food and beverages provided. For more info contact David at 251 599 8699 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
